Free backup and restore solution for Windows 7

There are two ways to free backup Windows 7: Windows 7 backup feature and backup freeware.

Windows 7 backup feature

Windows 7 has improved its ability to backup data, its backup feature can create safety copies of your most important personal files.

To backup data with Windows 7 backup feature

• Click the Start button Picture of the Start button.
• Click Control Panel.
• Click System and Maintenance.
• Click Backup and Restore.

1. If you've never used Windows Backup before

• Click Set up backup.
• Follow the steps in the wizard.

2. If you've created a backup before

• Wait for your regularly scheduled backup to occur.
• Or you can manually create a new backup by clicking Back up now

Administrator permission required if you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Note: We recommend that you don't back up your files to the same hard disk that Windows is installed on. You can back up to another drive or a DVD, a secure place to prevent unauthorized people from having access to your files. And if you're using the Professional or Ultimate editions of Windows 7, you'll also have the option of backing up your files to a network.

1. Using Disk and partition backup.

• Click "Data backup (File, Disk/Partition)".
• Choose File backup.
• Type Plan name, or use the default name.
• Select files or folders through disks and partitions to backup. Or select file type to backup.
• Click Destination to save backup image.
• Click Turn on and Backup options to set schedule and passward, compression, notification etc..
• Click Proceed to perform backup.

Both system backup image file and file backup image file can be saved on local hard disk, removable storage device, and saved to internet. What's more, you can also backup your network shared data.
