Methods to optimize your backup storage space

• Incremental backup

No matter you backup system or file backup, the first backup is full backup. Often the backup task is a long term issue, so you have to backup the second time, the third time. After every backup, a backup image file will be produced, so you need certain amount of space to store the image file. How to minimize the image file? You can choose incremental backup after the first full backup for both disk/partition backup and file backup. Incremental backup only to backup changed files since last backup no matter it's full backup, incremental backup or differential backup.

• Set days to preserve the backup image to delete images out of date

When you make the first full backup, there are many advanced options for you to set backup details, for example, you can set the retention period for your backup files. Then the images out of date will be automatically deleted. It's suitable when you just need the backup temporary.
