Genie can't do disk or partition backup, actually Genie is pretty simple program that you can't choose much. The interface is pretty simple that you don't have detailed options to choose. For example, when I choose single file and folder to backup, I found that I can only choose the data type. That's to say if I want to backup a single folder which contains both picture and music. I have to backup whole picture and music categories. What's more, the backup schedule function is limited, you can only set schedule to run backup automatically every 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour, 8 hour, and 1 day. While EaseUS Todo Backup Free has more options to run backup now, later, daily, weekly.

EaseUS Todo Backup Free has relatively comprehensive backup functions, it's more professional. You can backup disk or partition, file, folder and network shared files. Besides, you have many options to choose, you can compress your image file, you can set days to delete image files out of date to save disk space, and you can check image integrity. Besides backup and recovery functions, it can also clone disk and partition to transfer data and upgrade disk. EaseUS is more independent and interactive.

I try Genie Timeline Free to backup my pictures, I just have about 714 MB pictures on my computer, but the backup process lasts for almost one hour and the program is still stuck in the state "You are currently 99% protected", I don't know what happened.

Besides, I don't find much option to manage the backup in Genie Timeline Free, this is a big trouble for me. EaseUS Todo Backup Free does better at both backup and recovery. EaseUS has clear backup, recovery, and backup management options with large icon on its main interface, I can easily find them and do what I want to do.

Personally I think they have no comparability because they are designed for different user groups. Genie Timeline Free is a pretty simple backup program which even can't let you choose some detailed options. Some beginners can try this program if they don't have much valuable data badly in need of backup. EaseUS can provide more accurate and high-level backup service for the professional.

In short, Genie has pretty interface, but its functions can't satisfy me. It's more suitable for the newbie. The most important, EaseUS Todo Backup Free is totally free backup software for home and business users while Genie Timeline Free is only free for home users. No matter I am a beginner or a professional, I would prefer to download a backup freeware with so much complete backup and recovery functions.
